Abundance

Just Keep Planting

Friday, June 11th, 2010

This is a little tidbit by Adam Khan, Author of:”Self-Help Stuff That Works”.

When Paul was a boy growing up in Utah, he happened to live near an old copper smelter, and the sulfur dioxide that poured out of the refinery had made a desolate wasteland out of what used to be a beautiful forest.

When a young visitor one day looked at this wasteland and saw that there was nothing living there — no animals, no trees, no grass, no bushes, no birds … nothing but fourteen thousand acres of black and barren land that even smelled bad — well, this kid looked at the land and said, “This place is crummy.” Little Paul knocked him down. He felt insulted. But he looked around him and something happened inside him. He made a decision: Paul Rokich vowed that some day he would bring back the life to this land.

Many years later Paul was in the area, and he went to the smelter office. He asked if they had any plans to bring the trees back. The answer was “No.” He asked if they would let him try to bring the trees back. Again, the answer was “No.” They didn’t want him on their land. He realized he needed to be more knowledgeable before anyone would listen to him, so he went to college to study botany.

At the college he met a professor who was an expert in Utah’s ecology. Unfortunately, this expert told Paul that the wasteland he wanted to bring back was beyond hope. He was told that his goal was foolish because even if he planted trees, and even if they grew, the wind would only blow the seeds forty feet per year, and that’s all you’d get because there weren’t any birds or squirrels to spread the seeds, and the seeds from those trees would need another thirty years before they started producing seeds of their own. Therefore, it would take approximately twenty thousand years to revegetate that six-square-mile piece of earth. His teachers told him it would be a waste of his life to try to do it. It just couldn’t be done.

So he tried to go on with his life. He got a job operating heavy equipment, got married, and had some kids. But his dream would not die. He kept studying up on the subject, and he kept thinking about it. And then one night he got up and took some action. He did what he could with what he had. This was an important turning point. As Samuel Johnson wrote, “It is common to overlook what is near, by keeping the eye fixed on something remote. In the same manner, present opportunities are neglected and attainable good is slighted by minds busied in extensive ranges.”

Paul stopped busying his mind in extensive ranges and looked at what opportunities for attainable good were right in front of him. Under the cover of darkness, he sneaked out into the wasteland with a backpack full of seedlings and started planting. For seven hours he planted seedlings. He did it again a week later.

And every week, he made his secret journey into the wasteland and planted trees and shrubs and grass. But most of it died. For fifteen years he did this. When a whole valley of his fir seedlings burned to the ground because of a careless sheepherder, Paul broke down and wept. Then he got up and kept planting.

Freezing winds and blistering heat, landslides and floods and fires destroyed his work time and time again. But he kept planting. One night he found a highway crew had come and taken tons of dirt for a road grade, and all the plants he had painstakingly planted in that area were gone. But he just kept planting.

Week after week, year after year he kept at it, against the opinion of the authorities, against the trespassing laws, against the devastation of road crews, against the wind and rain and heat … even against plain common sense. He just kept planting. Slowly, very slowly, things began to take root. Then gophers appeared. Then rabbits. Then porcupines.

The old copper smelter eventually gave him permission, and later, as times were changing and there was political pressure to clean up the environment, the company actually hired Paul to do what he was already doing, and they provided him with machinery and crews to work with. Progress accelerated. Now the place is fourteen thousand acres of trees and grass and bushes, rich with elk and eagles, and Paul Rokich has received almost every environmental award Utah has.

He says, “I thought that if I got this started, when I was dead and gone people would come and see it. I never thought I’d live to see it myself!” It took him until his hair turned white, but he managed to keep that impossible vow he made to himself as a child. What was it you wanted to do that you thought was impossible? Paul’s story sure gives a perspective on things, doesn’t it? The way you get something accomplished in this world is to just keep planting. Just keep working. Just keep plugging away at it one day at a time for a long time, no matter who criticizes you, no matter how long it takes, no matter how many times you fall. Get back up again. And just keep planting.

Life Mission

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010
Someone asked me yesterday to tell them what their life purpose or mission is in this life time.  My human side wanted to give some grand words to this person about becoming famous or rich, and as I thanked that human side of me that wants to please others and asked it to please sit quietly and wait for the spirit side to answer, I grew calmer and here’s what came to me then:
I think it’s vital that us “ordinary people” truly get how import our roles are in this life time.  It isn’t that we are just doing some life mission that’s left over because “not everyone can be famous”.  This role is crucial to not only who WE are as a soul, but the energy of the earth as a whole and to humanity as an evolving species. (whew)
Sometimes I have people in my life who have tried to push me to be “famous” as though it’s my duty to work with the masses.  Sometimes I buy into that and will feel a little guilty or ashamed that I’m being “selfish” or something like that.  Then I watch how much better I feel when my life is rocking along with lots of peace and  contentment, and the lives I do touch are just a bit brighter, and they talk to their friends and brighten their lives and so on.
Us ordinary people are like the embers in a fire, the famous people are like the flames of the fire.  The flames cannot be flames without the embers.

2012: What will happen?

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Many people have heard that something is special about the year 2012. Some are afraid it is the end of the world, some think it is the beginning of world peace, some think it is nothing at all.  My understanding is that it’s a little of everything.

I haven’t done a study on this topic, so my facts may be lacking to those who have actually done the research. I’m just going to talk about my impressions of what it is and what I think is happening on an energetic level. I understand that it is the end of the Mayan Calendar.  What that means to me is that it’s no different than how December 31, 1999 is the end of the century. The world didn’t end, only that calendar. Times and dates are what us humans use to keep ourselves feeling sane. At least it’s a good try. (grin)

Many people who are tuned into energy and the New Age movement have felt the energies shifting for a long time. I think this is a positive shift. Even in the past few months I have felt like things are really taking off, and projects that have been stuck in neutral for the past few years are now begging to move. I’ve seen changes happening in myself and in my clients. To me, this energy feels like being born. We’ve been in the intense waves of labor for many years. We’re on the other side of labor now and in the delivery phase. We’re “crowning” I think this is all just in time for 2012.

I don’t think there will be a certain day or time in the year 2012 where we will suddenly “be born”. Even when physical birth is happening it isn’t really as clearly defined as most of us think.  When do you count the baby being born, exactly?  Is it when its head comes free of the mothers body? Is it when the cord is cut?  When you think of astrology, the planets are simply doing their orbiting, they don’t stop and start just so we can say which phase they are in at any certain moment.

So, I think of 2012 as simply a way to describe a “new beginnings” energy. I think we are already in it and will continue to be in this phase through 2012 and probably on into 2013 or later. I like this energy. I feel alive and like finally, I can actually get things accomplished.  Let’s take advantage of it!

Beacon: Attracting Your Soulmate

Creating Your Beacon

  • Write down all of who you are in the form of a list. Describe your physical body accurately, nonjudgmentally. Describe your personality in all of its colors and moods. Describe your preferences and your dislikes. I think you get the idea. The more thorough you are the clearer your message will be to the universe.
  • Now write down, in the same depth and style, a description of the soulmate of your dreams. One way to get very clear about these qualities, is to make similar lists of all of your exes. Then go through the lists and find the things you liked and did not like about each of them. We are working for honesty here.
  • Work with both lists until you feel really great about having a clear description of both of you.

You have given the universe the “what” now leave the “how” in the hands of Creator/Source/Universe. During our session, I will use the descriptions to construct your Soulmate Beacon and describe what occurs.

There is no way to tell how long it will take for your Soulmate to find you. Relax, watch for opportunities to be around people and trust that your Beacon will bring them to you at the best time for both of you.

Beacon: Creating Opportunity: 2

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Now you are going to make an Abundance List. This will be fun!

In much the same way as you created your Passion List, allow yourself to dream big. Let go of all of those thoughts about being selfish or whatever you may be doing to block yourself from prosperity. Pretend that there is plenty of everything in the whole world, that everything is free.

What tickles your fancy? Look at magazines, movies, books, the Internet and take notes on everything that brings a smile to your face when you pretend you already have it. Make a list of these things.

OK, now you have two lists: Your Passion List and your Abundance List.

Set up your session appointment and email me the lists. I’ll have them ready so that we can use the information to fine tune the Beacons to you.

Then it’s up to you to watch for synchronicities and opportunities. Be open for offers to meet new people, make connections and do things you might not have done before. Allow the universe to orchestrate your desires into this dimension for the highest and best good of everyone.

Beacon: Creating Opportunity: 1

Creating Your Opportunity Beacon

Make a Passion List. Write, in the form of a list, everything you can think of that makes you happy. You are clarifying your passion. Remember, don’t hold back here. Pretend you have all the education and money and support from others that you could possibly want.

Here are two suggestions on how to stimulate your passion buttons:

1. Use the newspaper

  • Get the classifieds and read the want ads.
  • Circle every ad that you get excited about as you read it. If you hear in your head, “Oh, that would be fun!” circle it.
  • When you are done, go back and look for common links between all of the ads you circled. Are they allot about people? Animals? Helping others? Working alone? With machines? Cars? Computers?

2. Get a College Catalog.

  • You can find some on the Internet and in libraries. Read through all of the course descriptions in the areas that grab you attention.
  • Highlight the ones that thrill your heart.
  • Look to see what is in common just like you did with the classifieds.
  • From all of these notes, create a list of what “turns your crank.”

Beacon: Opportunity

Opportunity Beacon

Every wish you could have job you actually liked to do? Wouldn’t it be awesome if you even enjoyed and looked forward to spending your day making money and having fun?

While it is not required, I suggest that you complete the various clearing services that you are attracted to prior to requesting your Opportunity Beacon. These can frequently, though not always, be completed in the same session. The reason is this: When the Beacon is created it links with your energies. If you are still holding beliefs which are contrary or at cross energies with your Beacon, then the results are typically less than you might desire. Such as, you will pull in opportunities that match many or most all of the components of the Beacon, only to run into difficulty in achieving the full potential of the opportunity due to the manifestation of a strongly held belief or even a past life Oath or Vow.

With that said, here is your chance to dare to dream of your passion separate and without regard to the practicalities of earning potential. You and I together, are creating a Beacon to attract opportunities for BOTH abundance and your heart’s passion. Settle for nothing less as you create your Beacon.

Beacon: Real Estate

Real Estate Beacon

This story is about my first Beacon I ever  established. A client was having difficulty selling his house. During a phone session, he asked me if I could perceive any reason for this. And indeed, I saw some energetic dark clouds around a certain area of the house. When reading the energy, I learned that it was connected to a previous owner. After clearing the energy and sending it to the Creator’s Light, I established a Beacon of Attraction so that the people who were well suited to the house would notice it.

The following week, the client received three inquiries on the house! This was after having had no inquiries since the house had been listed, over three months before. A couple of weeks later, when I next spoke to my client, he mentioned that while he was receiving inquiries no one had yet made an offer. I felt some additional “ingredients” were needed and added them to the Beacon. About a month or so later, I learned the house was sold.

In this case, the Real Estate Beacon is combined with an energetic house clearing. A remote Feng Shui, if you will. I will connect energetically with the property by knowing some parameters such as the location and the client’s connection to the house. (ie. It’s located at … and Bill Jones (the client) has owned and lived at the property for the last three years.)

Creating a beacon is more detailed than what I’m describing here.  I’ll get to the details soon. :)

Beacons: What Kinds?

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

I’ve set up primarily three types of Beacons: Real Estate, Opportunity and Soulmate. There are two different ways that I’ve done Beacons for clients. The first is that we will spontaneously create a Beacon during a session because that is the next step to complete the process we are working on, and the client wants to do it right then. Amazingly, we have found that this generally works, though occasionally, in follow up sessions I’ll need to fine tune or adjust the Beacons to fully achieve the desired effect.

The second and more deliberate method of creating Beacons is defined later. There is no question that this second method is the most powerful because you’ve invested your time, focus and energy and this translates into a strong Intentional energy that I connect with and put into the Beacon.

Beacons: Huh?

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

beaconI describes Energy Beacons or Beacons of Attraction, as a pillar of light that is so tall that it broadcasts its signal through all dimensions, including the spiritual planes. A Beacon emits a range of pleasant sounds, it radiates a range of glorious colors and it is amplifying your desires as it broadcasts its signal. This signal pulses these vibrations in every direction to increase its effectiveness.

When you intentionally create a beacon, you have given the universe the “what” now leave the “how” in the hands of Creator/Source/Universe.
We create beacons UNintentionally many times in various situations.  You know how you can “just tell” when someone is single and dating? How about those stories you hear of people who seem to be victimized over and over in their lives.  How about going into a store, or a restaurant but you leave without buying because “nothing seemed right” or “the staff was distant/irritating/rude…” These are ways that people “broadcast” their intentions and others pick up on it.
A Beacon is simply a way of being mindful about the vibes you send out to others. When you get really clear about what and who you want to draw to you, that makes it much easier for others to find you.  I’ll be describing various beacons, later on.
